Family doctor – your first medical support

A family doctor is the first specialist to see if you experience worrying symptoms. Its role is to diagnose, treat and refer patients for further diagnostics and specialist treatment. The main tasks of a family doctor include:

  • Conducting examinations and providing medical advice.
  • Referral for diagnostic tests necessary to make an accurate diagnosis.

Internist – internal medicine specialist

An internist is a specialist who diagnoses and treats internal diseases in adults. It is worth visiting him in the case of general health ailments that do not yet require the intervention of a doctor with a narrower specialization. Internist:

  • He or she will assess the patient’s health and make an initial diagnosis.
  • He or she will order the necessary laboratory and imaging tests, such as morphology, ultrasound or ECG.
  • He or she will plan pharmacological treatment tailored to the individual needs of the patient.
  • He or she will refer the patient for further diagnostics or specialist treatment.
  • It will provide preventive health care, including the control of chronic diseases such as hypertension or diabetes.

    Jakie choroby diagnozuje internista?
