The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis and does not require hospitalization.

Recommendations After Thyroid Biopsy

After the procedure:

• apply pressure to the puncture site for several minutes,
• wear a small dressing for a few hours,
• avoid intense physical activity for 24 hours,
• observe the puncture site (in the case of significant swelling, pain, or bleeding, contact your doctor).

Test results are usually available after approximately 2 weeks. A follow-up appointment is recommended to discuss the results and determine further management.
