Endoproteza stawu kolanowego jest rozważana najczęściej wtedy, gdy ból kolana utrudnia codzienne funkcjonowanie i nie ustępuje mimo leczenia zachowawczego. Dotyczy to przede wszystkim zaawansowanej choroby zwyrodnieniowej stawu kolanowego, ale również zmian pourazowych czy reumatoidalnych. Operacja może poprawić komfort życia, zmniejszyć ból i przywrócić sprawność ruchową.
Do najczęstszych objawów należą:
- przewlekły ból kolana podczas chodzenia lub w spoczynku,
- ograniczenie ruchomości stawu,
- trudności przy wchodzeniu po schodach,
- sztywność poranna,
- obrzęki i niestabilność kolana,
