How do we work?
Minor surgical procedures under local anesthesia
Minor surgical procedures, also known as minor surgery, include a wide range of procedures that are performed under local anesthesia. We offer a variety of dermatosurgery procedures, i.e. skin surgery that does not require hospitalization.
At Mediss Medical Clinic, we specialize in the precise removal of various skin lesions, such as moles, warts, sebaceous cysts, as well as the treatment of minor injuries and wounds. Thanks to our experienced specialists and modern equipment, we guarantee patients safe and effective treatment in comfortable conditions.
Scope of services
Dermatosurgery deals with the removal of skin lesions that may be potentially cancerous, such as moles or suspicious lesions. In such cases, after excision of the lesion, the material is sent for histopathological analysis, which allows for an assessment of whether the lesion is malignant. Early diagnosis of skin cancer is crucial for effective treatment.
Procedures to remove warts, fibromas, hemangiomas and other benign skin lesions are performed under local anesthesia. They are often performed for aesthetic reasons, but also for health reasons, when the changes may cause discomfort or complications.
-
Nail surgery
Treatment of ingrown toenails is one of the most popular procedures in minor surgery. The procedure involves removing part or all of the nail, which allows the problem to be solved and prevents recurrence.
-
Foreign body removal
It is common for trauma to leave foreign bodies in the skin or soft tissue, such as glass shards, splinters, or small metal fragments. Foreign body removal procedures are routinely performed under local anesthesia, which minimizes patient discomfort and allows for a quick return to full activity.
-
Suturing the wound
This is a standard procedure in cases where the wound is deep enough to require surgical closure. By stitching the wound, it is possible to speed up healing and reduce the risk of infection.
-
Scar excision
In cases where the scar is unsightly or causes discomfort, you can decide to have it surgically removed. Excision of the scar allows for a better cosmetic effect.
Procedure
All minor surgical procedures at Mediss Medical Clinic are performed under local anesthesia, which means that the patient is fully conscious but does not feel pain in the surgical site. The procedure begins with disinfection of the surgical site and administration of anesthesia. Then the doctor begins to perform the planned procedure, taking care of precision and minimizing damage to the surrounding tissues.
Histopathological tests
Our clinic cooperates with laboratorium SYNEVO. Thanks to this, all preparations are immediately sent to the laboratory, where they are subjected to a histopathological examination. After receiving the test result, we will contact you and invite you to a visit with the attending physician to provide and discuss the results.
Post-procedure recommendations
After the procedure, the patient receives detailed recommendations for wound care and possible painkillers. It is crucial to maintain proper hygiene of the surgical site to prevent infections. Depending on the type of procedure, the patient may require a check-up after a few days or weeks to assess the healing process.
Patient safety and comfort
At Mediss Medical Clinic, we provide patients with full comfort and safety during minor surgical procedures. Each procedure is performed by experienced specialists who ensure that the procedure is as minimally invasive as possible, and that the patient feels comfortable and confident. Thanks to modern techniques and equipment, we can offer quick and effective solutions that improve the quality of life of our patients.
