Occupational health examinations are a mandatory element of employment – both for employees and employers. At Mediss Medical Clinic in Gdańsk, we provide comprehensive preventive services carried out efficiently, without unnecessary formalities, and in full compliance with current legal regulations.

Occupational Health – Pre-employment, Periodic and Control Examinations

Preventive occupational health examinations are financed by the employer and are intended to issue a certificate confirming fitness for work in a given position.

Pre-employment examinations – performed before starting employment or when changing a job position. Without a valid certificate, an employee cannot be allowed to work.

Periodic examinations – conducted during employment – before the previous certificate expires. Their purpose is to monitor the impact of working conditions on the employee’s health.

Control examinations – mandatory after sick leave lasting more than 30 days. They determine whether an employee can safely return to work.

Occupational health examinations are provided exclusively for employees of companies that have a signed agreement with Mediss Medical.

Driver Medical Examinations

At Mediss Medical Clinic in Gdańsk, we provide comprehensive medical examinations for drivers. These are mandatory both for individuals applying for a driving licence and for active drivers whose licences are nearing expiration.

Driver Medical Examinations

We perform examinations for:

• candidates for driving licences (categories A and B)
• company car drivers (category B)
• candidates for category C+E licences (private, non-professional drivers)

During the visit, the doctor conducts a detailed medical interview. If you have chronic conditions or take regular medication, be sure to inform the specialist – all information is important for issuing the medical certificate.

The consultation includes, among others, a blood glucose measurement and an eye examination. If medically indicated, the doctor may refer you for additional tests or specialist consultations necessary to issue the certificate – these services are not included in the package and are charged according to the price list of the facility where they are performed.

If you have a vision defect, remember to bring your current ophthalmological test results to the appointment.

Sanitary and Epidemiological Examinations

Sanitary and epidemiological examinations (so-called “sanitary booklet”) are mandatory for individuals whose work may involve the transmission of infections.

For minors, a valid ID (e.g. school ID or passport) is required.

The occupational health physician performs the examination based on the original referral issued by the employer. This document is stored in the patient’s medical records and contains information about occupational hazards and risk factors present in the workplace.
