  • Thyroid ultrasound
  • Ultrasound of salivary glands
  • Ultrasound of lymph nodes
  • Gynecological ultrasound (transvaginal)
  • Ultrasound of the urinary system with assessment of residual urine

How do we work?

01

The first step is a consultation with our specialist, you can make an appointment by phone, email, through the contact form or directly at our website at „schedule an appointment” tab.

02

During the consultation, a doctor will ask you about the reason of your visit, your health condition and any other circumstances that may affect it. Remember that the information you provide will significantly affect the therapy provided.

03

If necessary, the doctor may refer the necessary tests which will be helpful to decide what is the best individual treatment for you.

04

At our clinic, each patient has an assigned caregiver who is supportive and ready to help you whenever you need it.

Ultrasonography is the only completely safe imaging test thanks to which the doctor performing the examination can assess the structure of internal organs.

We work with the GE VOLUSON E10 BT21 device and SAMSUNG V6 / 2024

Abdominal ultrasound

What is an abdominal ultrasound?

Abdominal ultrasound is a non-invasive diagnostic test that allows the assessment of internal organs such as the liver, bile ducts, pancreas, kidneys and others. It helps detect various diseases, including deposits in the urinary system, inflammation, tumors, cysts and post-traumatic damage. Ultrasound is also used to monitor cancer treatment and detect metastases.

How to prepare for the test?

Preparation for an abdominal ultrasound includes following an easily digestible diet the day before the examination and avoiding food and drink (except for unsweetened water) a few hours before the examination. It is also advisable to take medications that remove air from the gastrointestinal tract, such as Espumisan.

The day before the test:

  • An easily digestible diet: Avoid raw vegetables, fruit and dark bread.
  • Take a medicine that removes air from the digestive tract, such as Espumisan.

On the day of the test:

  • If the test takes place before noon: Be on an empty stomach from 6:00 p.m. the day before.
  • If the test takes place in the afternoon: Avoid eating at least 6 hours before the test.

Also avoid drinking coffee, strong tea, smoking and chewing gum.

Bladder filling

Proper imaging of the small pelvic organs requires a filled bladder. 1-2 hours before the test, drink 1-4 glasses of still water and do not urinate. Bring your previous imaging results with you, if you have them.

Course of the study

The examination takes about 15-20 minutes and usually takes place in a supine position. The patient’s skin is covered with a special gel that ensures full contact of the head of the device with the skin. The doctor moves the head of the device, obtaining images of the organs visible on the monitor.

Indications for abdominal ultrasound

Abdominal ultrasound is recommended for people experiencing unexplained abdominal pain, changes in this area (nodules, thickening), bleeding from the genital tract or gastrointestinal tract, diarrhoea, vomiting, sudden weight loss, yellowing of the skin, urinary or stool retention, and after injuries.

Abdominal ultrasound is an effective and safe diagnostic method that allows you to assess the condition of internal organs and detect a variety of diseases. Proper preparation for the test is crucial for obtaining reliable results. If you need to consult and perform the test, please contact our specialists.

Thyroid USG

Thyroid ultrasound is the primary imaging study in patients with suspected thyroid disease. It is used to assess the size, shape, location and morphological evaluation of the gland. An integral component of thyroid ultrasound is the evaluation of the surrounding lymph nodes.
The indications for thyroid ultrasound are:

  • differentiation of autoimmune and non-autoimmune thyroid diseases,
  • evaluation of cervical lymph nodes,
  • enlargement of the gland without a palpable nodule,
  • palpable nodule or nodular goiter,
  • control of the size of benign thyroid nodules/focal lesions,
  • monitoring effects of the treatment.

Lymph node ultrasound

Lymph node ultrasound allows for the assessment of their size and structure. It allows for the distinction between reactive nodes, enlarged as a result of inflammation, and nodes suspected of being cancerous. The most commonly performed lymph node ultrasound is:

  • cervical,
  • supraclavicular,
  • axillary,
  • retroperitoneal,
  • inguinal.

Indications for the examination include:

  • enlargement of lymph nodes,
  • skin changes in their area,
  • pain in their area,
  • palpable changes on palpation.

How is the lymph node ultrasound performed?

The examination lasts a few minutes, is painless and safe. The patient lies down during it. The doctor applies a special gel to the examined area and then moves the ultrasound head over it. The result is available immediately in the form of a description with an attached printout of ultrasound images.

Lymph node ultrasound is used to assess the size and structure of lymph nodes in a specific area. It is completely painless and non-invasive.

GYNAECOLOGICAL (TRANSVAGINAL) USG

Gynaecological ultrasound, also known as transvaginal ultrasound, is an important diagnostic procedure that allows an accurate assessment of the organs in the pelvis. The examination is performed using a transvaginal probe protected in each case by a gel-coated latex sheath.

How does a transvaginal ultrasound proceed?

During the examination, the patient lies down on a couch, and the doctor inserts a vaginal probe that emits ultrasound. The location of the probe makes it possible to evaluate the internal organs. The examination is non-invasive and usually painless, although sometimes patients may experience some discomfort. It usually lasts a few minutes, and the doctor can immediately assess any changes.
In some cases, the examination can be performed through the abdominal shell, especially in patients who have not yet begun sexual intercourse.

For what purpose is a transvaginal examination performed?

Transvaginal ultrasound, also known as gynaecological ultrasound, is an effective diagnostic tool for identifying various diseases, abnormalities and changes in gynaecological organs. Below are the most common conditions that can be detected with this test:

  • abnormal thickness of the endometrium
  • polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)
  • ovarian cysts
  • uterine myomas
  • cancerous lesions of the genital organs
  • abnormal structure of uterine muscles, bones and pelvic tissues.

It is worth noting that transvaginal ultrasound is a safe, non-invasive procedure that provides valuable diagnostic information. However, the final interpretation of the results should always be made by an experienced specialist who will take into account the clinical context and other available medical data of the patient.

When it is worth performing such a test:

  • unusual bleeding from the genital tract
  • lower abdominal pain
  • unusual complaints related to the menstrual cycle
  • diagnosis of infertility
  • monitoring of pregnancy
  • assessment of the condition of genital organs
  • preventive examination

It is worth noting that the decision to perform a gynecological ultrasound should be made individually by the doctor on the basis of the patient’s health history, symptoms and diagnostic needs. Regular visits to the gynecologist and the performance of recommended examinations are key to maintaining women’s reproductive health.
